Ohio County is a county located in the Northern Panhandle of the U.S. state of West Virginia. West Liberty (formerly Black's Cabin) was the county seat from 1777 to 1797. Ohio County is part of the Wheeling, WV-OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. ==Geography== According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (2.9%) is water. It is the third-smallest county in West Virginia by area.
